Water Test Report Card

So I was told I would put my aquaponics system light years ahead of itself if I added pond water. Since a creek is o so far away, I added two buckets. It was also suggested I do a water test and soon. Sunday the system was running and Wednesday night I'm testing the water. Soon? Sure! Day 3 is water tested.

Take One: Hello-Wrong PH test, I'm off the charts!

Take Two: ahhh, high range PH
RESULTS
PH - 7.4
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5-10ppm

My extensive youtube research tells me I need more plants (by the high nitrates?) and to just wait till my system balances. My PH is a 'wee bit' high and my nitrates really aren't bad for how new the system is. A few months ago, I would have said, "English, please. Nitrate WHO?" Hopefully, I'll catch on.

In conclusion, I think I can get fish and keep them alive. right? Not sure how to get the ph down. Ugh, surely, I don't just have to wait...
